Cow Corner News – Feb 2016

Hello all,

I know that most of the time (certainly if your name is Tommy Tucker) you spend your days and nights living and breathing cricket and wishing that winters never existed. Well ladies and gents (and Matt Stevens) the time is upon us when we can all go into the garage and dust down our cricket gear. Pre-season training is upon us…..!!!

After what was a brilliant season for CDCC last year, can we look to push ourselves forward and attempt to achieve new heights??………Sunday team promotion??? 3rd season as Champions for the Saturday team??? Evening 2nds team winning the league??? Promotion to Div 1 for the 1st team………..? Well maybe not the last one, hey Mr Chairman??

Pre-season nets start this Wednesday at 7:30pm located at St Mary’s C.E Middle School in Puddletown. Our super organised Chairman has already sent out event invites to all on Facebook, so please, I want to see you in attendance and let’s be ready for the start of the season. (I actually heard a rumour that Sid may turn up but surely that can’t be true?)

I would like to thank everyone who has been involved in the maintenance days held out of season, some great work has been done, but there are still lots of jobs to be completed before the season starts. If you are able to make any of the maintenance days then please come along and spare a couple of hours of your time as all the work leads to an enhanced cricketing experience for everyone during the season.

Tommy’s youngsters, as always, have been developing with successful indoor cricket competitions during the winter and I have no doubt that we will start to see the fruits of all his (and his coaching teams) hard work as some of these players move up to play senior cricket this year.

Not much more for me to say. I hope to see as many of you as possible on Wednesday and let’s all have a great 2016 season!

Jae
Club Captain
